The 2010 HESTA Australian Nursing Awards – Innovation in Nursing Award – acknowledging nurses who have initiated innovative products, services or processes that benefit patients and / or the community.

Being at the frontline of health care in Australia, puts nurses in an ideal position to develop new or innovative solutions, to wide and varied issues experienced by their patients. It is not always easy to find funding to get these ideas off the ground. This award recognises the spirit with which nurses embrace their profession and seeks to provide assistance in further developing an innovative product, service or process. The award also seeks to recognise the hard work and dedication of those nurses who have successfully implemented a product, service or process.

Individual nurses or teams seeking support in further developing an innovative product, service or process may nominate themselves or others for this award provided the product or service has not yet been commercialised (i.e. is not yet being sold).
